My Vision

A chapter where ambition is matched with connection, mentorship, research, inclusion, and real opportunity.

To build a stronger, more connected, and opportunity-driven chapter where every member can grow professionally and personally.

Policies

Four practical goals for a stronger chapter.

These policies are plans for service, connection, research, and inclusion. They are written as goals to work toward, not as claims of completed work.

Policy 1

Strengthening International Collaboration

I aim to strengthen ties with international student chapters and professional bodies so members can be exposed to global opportunities, networking programmes, webinars, and knowledge-sharing activities.

Policy 2

Expanding the Mentorship Network

I plan to connect students with alumni, industry professionals, and international mentors who can support academic growth, career development, and professional exposure.

Policy 3

Promoting Industry-Based Research

I aim to encourage industry-focused research, create opportunities for students to present their work, and promote collaboration between students and industry professionals.

Policy 4

Establishing a Gender Committee

I believe every member deserves a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment. The committee will provide support, address social and gender-related concerns, and promote mutual respect and well-being.

Leadership Promise

Service, accountability, inclusion, and respect.

My goal is to help create a chapter that supports student development, professional growth, and opportunity creation for every member.

Service

Leadership that begins with the needs of members and remains focused on student development.

Accountability

A commitment to lead with responsibility, respect, and clear communication.

Opportunity

A campaign centered on professional growth, personal growth, and access for every member.

Official Endorsement

Endorsed by Henry Kwame Dadzie.

As the Mining Departmental Head of AusIMM, I am pleased to endorse Margaret Odenkey for the position of President.

Even as an ordinary member within both the UMaT Mining Engineering Department and AusIMM, Margaret was part of a dedicated team that pushed for improvements in the Mining Engineering curriculum to help produce globally competitive and quality engineers. With little to gain personally, she remained committed and actively followed the process through to the Vice Chancellor level in the interest of students and the future of the department.

Her willingness to pursue meaningful changes without holding office demonstrates leadership, commitment, and vision. I strongly believe that when entrusted with the mantle of leadership, she will continue to drive impactful change within both the organization and the university community. She has my full endorsement.
